Last weekend, I visited Ine town, north-west of Kyoto, which faces The Sea of Japan. It took about a couple of hours to get there, but it was worth. Weather was so nice that the waterfront was beautiful.
There is a small strip mall by the water, called "Funaya-Biyori". One of the most popular spots in the town. I love "Ine Cafe" where we can have a cup of coffee or even a bottle of Beer (they do not serve alcohol beverages now, under Covid-19 restrictions, though).
I stopped at a nice Sushi bar "Wadatrumi" in the mall. The ambience was really nice and clean. Also, the owner chef was very talkative even to the walk-in visitors (like me). Sushi and Sashimi qualities there were superb. I will definitely dine there again once the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, when I can drink local Sake's.
In Ine, there are boat garages where fishermen's boats are safely parked. The garage is usually a part of one's house and it is on the sea level, so a fisherman can quickly go out for fishing anytime. At Funaya Biyori, there is.one of them for visitors to step in and look around.
